Overview

Lorraine Achola Ooma is a Partner in the Real Estate, Conveyancing and Projects Department at KKN Law LLP Advocates in Nairobi. She focuses on real estate law, conveyancing, commercial and corporate law, structuring, and cross-functional legal advisory, with a growing focus on public-private partnerships and infrastructure law.

She advises extensively on property due diligence, property acquisitions, property joint ventures, construction contracts, asset and share acquisitions and the structuring of property developments, including residential and mixed-use projects.

Lorraine is a member of the Law Society of Kenya’s Conveyancing and Real Estate Committee and Land and Natural Resources Committee for the 2026–2028 term. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.

  • Advising on mixed-use developments comprising residential apartments, hotels, serviced apartments, and commercial and retail space, including drafting, negotiating, and concluding construction contracts based on the FIDIC Conditions.
  • Drafting, negotiating, and concluding financing documentation for large-scale property developments.
  • Advising on management structures for mixed-use and multi-component developments, including drafting and concluding management agreements.
  • Structuring and restructuring property-holding entities to align with development master plans.
  • Drafting property acquisition, sale, and leasing agreements, and preparing the full scheme documentation used for the sale and leasing of units within completed developments.
  • Acting for landowners and developers in joint venture arrangements for high-end residential and commercial developments.
  • Advising on the appointment of consultants and project agreements for large-scale commercial developments, including Grade A commercial buildings.
